Roaming and Relaxing

The golden fields have been harvested, the straw baled, and taken away.    A few fields have been ploughed, but most of the local ones are still available for me, and the dog, to roam around.

We roam far and wide, cutting across the fields, following old tracks, enjoying the freedom.   Luckily, the local farmers are happy for us to do so.     This tiny cottage is well away from any road and has beautiful views to the front, a barley field to the side and the other sides are taken up with grazing land for a very handsome herd of prize cattle.

It is just a couple fields away from home, but in order to reach home we have to splash through a small stream, cross a wooden bridge, two stiles, cut through some woodland, over another bridge, up through a field, then down the village lane.   If we could fly, it would be a mere 200 yards by the direct route!

Ah, well, all that exercise keeps us fit!
